Body art is a sub-category of performance art which artists use to make their own body in particular statements. The most common forms of body art are tattoos ,body piercing, scarification, branding, scalpel ling, shaping for example tight-lacing of corsets, full body tattoo and body painting.

More extreme body art can involve things such as mutilation or pushing the body to its physical limits. The risks of body art include irritation, infection, scarring, rejection, and going to a dirty shop runs the risk of Hepatitis.
